Duvoisin Gallery
It is an age-old question—are you a cat person or a dog person? In this exhibition, the character and charms of both animals are vividly envisioned in a selection of drawings from the Zimmerli’s collection of original illustrations for children’s literature. Ward Schumaker traces a cat’s instinct for pursuit in a series of lively scenes for Mouse Chase and Art Seiden perceptively captures a range of breeds and their distinct personalities in his designs for Puppies. The exhibition also features illustrations by Frank Asch, Mary Chalmers, Roger Duvoisin, Tony Chen, Shari Halpern, and Lois Lenski that picture the playfulness of dogs, the curiosity of cats, and the joys that these animals bring to our everyday lives.
